The sup erposition calculation met hod adopted in J apanese code is analyzed. According to rules of simple calculation ,clear concept and reliable safe ,t he calculation met hod of concrete filled rectangular and square steel tube columns is suggested ,and adopted by Technical Sp ecif ication f or Desig n of S teel S t ruct ure D w elli ng Houses (DB29 —57 —2003) .
