The worm gear hob is one kind of gear hob, the worm wheel hob is a tool used to process worm gear. The principle is the process of meshing the worm and worm gear. Worm wheel hob machining worm wheel, the design of the method is to make the hob instead of original work worm. There are four kinds of gear hob commonly used, in which Archimedes tooth shaped have two kinds of axial tooth profile and normal to tooth profile; normal to straight tooth profile also have two kinds of type. Structure of worm gear hob also has two kinds respectively is hole type and shanked type. The machining technology of the worm gear hob is mainly finished in numerical control machine tool and machining center. The material of worm gear hob is high speed steel W18Cr4V.
