Methods 362 breast cancer patients proceeded with radical mastectomy were included into our study. Rehabilitation group were consist of 180 patients, who were proceeded with gradual rehabilitation gymnastics. The remaining 182 patients were classified into the control group and given conventional nursing. Upper extremity function, subscutaneous hydrops, edema, life quality and satisfaction were used to evaluate the effects of rehabilitation gymnastics. Results No edema was found in ipsilateral upper extremity. Besides, the upper extremity function, life quality and the satisfactory score were all better than the control group with significant difference. Conclusion Gradual rehabilitation gymnastics could outstandingly improve the upper extremity function and life quality, post-operatively, which deserves extensive development and popularization.
