It is the premise when people deal with all the social activities. More and more attention is attached to the differences between Chinese and western food culture, as a important part for communicating with western world. First, the thesis introduces the importance of diet. Food ranks the first in all our needs. Since food culture is a category of culture, it is necessary for us to know the differences between Chinese and western food culture. Then, the thesis discusses the definition of food culture. That is, food culture is the sum of material and spirit treasure which created by people in a long period of food production and consume. Then the thesis introduces the 5 differences between Chinese and western food culture. The differences of idea of food, cooking skills ect. Finally, the thesis suggests how to properly view the differences. No matter how to say, the aim of knowing the differences is to absorb the quintessence and promote the communication between china and the west. I believe that with the development of society, different culture will learn from each other and understand each other. Our life will become better and better.
