A s a Ba- m ine al, it is conce ned by t he people inc easing ly. T he p ope ties of ba ite in Hubei P ovince have been cha act e ized by using XRD, DT A - T G analysis, g anula size analysis and chem ical analysis. T o p oduce the high whiteness and pu ity ba it e, leaching by acid, ox ido- educt ion bleaching and the combina- t ion w it h the calcinat ions have been conducted, so t he impu it ies can be dissolved and emoved. T he su face modification ex pe iments w it h silane and stea ic acid has ca ied out . T he esult show ed t hat the BaSO4 w ent up f om 95. 44% t o 98. 55% , t he w hiteness f om 84 . 10% to 93. 50% aft e the pu if icat ion.
