The investigation has employed the GIS technology in analyzing the area of Hanyang District which is rich in lakes. The first part focuses on the accessibility of the residents going to the nearest lake. And the second part concentrates on the accessibility of the residents to all nearby lakes by vehicles traffics. The accessibility in the whole research zone is gradually decreasing from the center to the periphery. The method has been used in a real design case within Sixin area in illustrating the operation of the method.
