The company’s market, its industry, and its strategies are examined utilizing a host of different analytical devices such as a SWOT and TOWS matrix as well as BCG and a QSPM matrix, among others. The conclusion is that while Johnson Johnson is an established home consumer product goods competitor, the greatest competitive threat is Kimberly-Clark because of its continued expansion into numerous product categories as a distributor providing it with significant power as a competitor. Finally, a series of alternative market strategies are developed but the recommended strategy is that the company should acquire Johnson Johnson or a similar large competitor while the opportunity exists. This allows the company to expand its market footprint without the slow growth metrics associated with organic expansion strategies.
