Num erical smi ulat ion of a highw ay bridge indicates that the poun- ding bewt een the ad jacent segm ents o f the bridge w ill sign ificantly increase the ab solute accelerat ion respon ses, and the sem i-active control system w ith MR dam per can effectively suppress the dynam ic respon ses and the pounding o f the stru cture.
