Currently, East Asian nations are exerting their energies to provide peaceful and stable strategic regional environment away from their specific conflicting regional surroundings with which they have been confronted. It is becoming a strategic objective for each East Asian nation to supply a peaceful environment on the basis of multilateral cooperations between nations in this area. Military confrontations caused by extreme ideologies have long faded away as the cold war ended. Nevertheless, it is true that Multilateral Organizations for the sake of regional security in the East Asian region have not been firmly rooted yet notwithstanding the continuing efforts of individual governments in this area. In consequence with this existing global order, this thesis, starting from the perspective of Multilateralism, is to discuss the inter-relationship between East Asian Security and Multilateral Organizations along with their significance supporting global environment and global security. At the same time, this thesis is also to argue the probabilities to construct permanent Multilateral Organizations to guarantee regional security in the East Asian region. Additionally, some significant suggestions on cooperations for regional security in the East Asian area will be presented from a scholar deeply concerned in regional issues in this area.
