Unit 8 It must belong to Carla.Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Niu Xueting. I come from Xulou Middle School. I’m honored to stand here. Today I’m going to talk about the First Period Section A (1a-1c) of Unit 8. I will divide the instruction into six parts. They are Teaching material analysis, Teaching aims, Teaching important and difficult points, Teaching methods, Teaching aids and Teaching procedures.Part I Teaching material analysisAnalysis of teaching materialThis period is from Unit 8 of PEP English. With the help of guessing game, listening practice and conversations, modal verbs are used to develop students’ language skills. Therefore the lesson will lay a foundation for the future.Analysis of studentsStudents of Grade 9 have learned English for at least 3years. They have learned some skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. But students are especially afraid of speaking English in front of people. So I always encourage them to be active in every class.Part II Teaching aimsAims of the knowledge:Students can master vocabularies and language structures.Aims of the abilities:Learn to use modal verbs to show their own speculations.Be able to guess and analyze a kind of state and give the reasons.Aims of the emotion:To make students be interested in communication and cooperation.Part III Teaching important and difficult points1. Teaching important points(1)Master the key words and target language. It must/could/might/can’t be sb.’s It must/could/might/can’t belong to sb. (2) Improve students’ listening and speaking skills.2. Teaching difficult points How to improve students’ ability to listen and speak by learning modal verbs.Part IV Teaching methodsIn this period,I will use five-step Teaching Method and Task-based language Teaching.I design some tasks to help the students learn.I think if I want to improve the students’ oral English,I should give them enough chances to practice and I will use pair work,group work to let the students take an
