STUDY REPORT ABOUT RHETORIC I have learned rhetoric for about 14 weeks, actually more than that, for the moment I read English or write in English, rhetoric will be encountered undoubtedly. Here I mainly focus on what I have gained in the rhetoric class. I would like to divided my report into three parts: in the first part, I will overview all the lectures I learned from; the second part refers to the aesthetic function of the rhetoric; the last part will be concerned with the rhetoric’s positive effect on my English study and my increase in appreciating poetry and other literature style, therefore rhetoric is a course of study as well as a civic art. 1. LECTURES’ REPORT In the rhetoric class, apart from the rhetoric theory we were given, another part is about the lectures delivered by Professor Lang, Professor Yu, and Professor Yu. Among them, Professor Lang’s ones have impressed me a great deal. First, it is about his analysis of why we Chinese university students are very tough to find a suitable job, which should owe to our economic structure, especially the immature manufacturing industry structure. Our companies or factories just focus on manufacture and ignore the importance to build their own brands, not to say the innovation of the new technology and marking strategy and marking survey etc. These processes in the manufacture need quantity of students rather than the single manufacture. Therefore it is inevitable to witness so many students failing in job-hunting. When I watched that video, an air of chill wind raked me. As a college student, I have only one year left. What should I do to make some preparation for the job-hunting and ride out the gloomy economy. Another important lecture is about the reasons of our flourishing stock market. The main reason is that Chinese government’s new economic policies hit the private business deeply so that they withdraw their money from the real economy and invest all the capital to the stock market.
