A peasant girl born in what is now eastern France who claimed divine guidance, she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years War, which paved the way for the coronation of Charles VII of France. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (2 October 1869?– 30 January 1948), commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi, was the preeminent leader of Indian nationalism in British-ruled India.
