The challenges of the olive oil sector INDEX * HOJIBLANCA GROUP * If we mesure world country producers, Hojiblanca would be on the forth place and will be on the third place in the next five years: Spain, Italy, Greece, Hojiblanca, Syria, Turky, Tunissia Hojiblanca Group, located in the south of Spain, started its worldwide project in 1.987 with already existing coops with more than 100 years. Hojiblanca, a seccond grade coop, formed by 95 first grade coops with 65.000 farmers, in continuos growth. Jointed togheter to integrate farming, producing, controling and sales of bulk oils and retail paacks, under our brands and private labels. Turn over in 2010 : 430 million € Our estimated production for next coming crop 2011/2012: 220.000 tons which will represent aproximatly over 7% of the world production. We are leadres in Spain with our Hojiblanca brand in the extra virgin category, and presents in the chinese market since 1.999. THE OLIVE OIL IN THE WORLD Olive oil is only the 2-3% (in volume) of the global oils consumption in the world, but represent 10%-12% in value. Also is the fastest edible oil in growth. Also has higher retail value because is meanly orientated to the final consumer with added value packaging * THE OLIVE OIL WORLDWIDE PRODUCTION *Source: IOOC . The production is very concentrated, 8 countries produce 97% of the total production. In 10 years the production has doubled from 1,453 to 3,150 million metric tons . In the next 10-15 years expected to grow at 5 to 6% in volume. Which will represent the 20% of the totla value of edibles oils.
