The method of characteri tic line to olve the tre wave equation i propo ed con idering the interaction of pile and oil.The optimization method can be u ed to quantitatively detect the fault in pile , where the oil parameter inver ed from a model with complete pile are u ed to inver e the equivalent tre wave impedance for other with damaged pile and then identify their corre ponding fault . Numerical example of the imulation for experimental pile and of the detection for engineering pile how that the method give the quite accurate re ult , e pecially for tho e with primary or econdary fault .
