The first period (sectionA1a—1c) Ⅰ.Teaching aims: language goals: ⑴learn the words of furniture. ⑵the usage of preposition: on, in, under. ⑶master how to use “where-question” to ask the position of objects and the answer of this sentence pattern. ⒉ability goals: ⑴learn to describe the position of objects. ⑵learn how to ask the concrete position of your own things and others’ things. ⑶describe and design the room reasonably. ⒊moral goal: encourage students to form the habit of keeping their room tidy. ⅡTeaching important points: ⒈new words: sofa, bed, dresser, table, bookcase, plant, drawer… ⒉the usage of preposition: on, in, under. ⒊the Special Question of “where” and its answer. ⅢTeaching difficult points: ⒈describe the position of objects correctly by using the preposition of place. ⒉use the “where-questions” to find the position of objects. ⅣTeaching tools: Multi-media pictures, power point ⅤTeaching methods: See-say, practice group work ⅥTeaching procedures: Step 1.Lead –in Have students review the words of school things and spell them. Then lead in the new words of furniture in Unit4. Step 2. New words Presentation: present the new words with pictures.(Pictures can show the meaning of new words directly. There is no need to translate them into Chinese. Besides, pictures can draw students attention.) Practice: read after the teacher---read together---read in groups---read individually. (Some students may fear speaking out before the class, so give them more chance to practice and then read individually.) Do exercise of sectionA, 1a. Then check the answers. A guessing game. Use pictures to let students guess what it is. Divide the class into 4groups and compete with each other. The winner can get a present, such as the bookmark.
