题干中主要会出现下列动词:imply(暗示);infer(推断);suggest(暗示);indicate(表明、象征、暗示);conclude(推断出)和assume(假设、假定)。
【典例1】 (2014·山东)Peter drove to Ann’s house to pick up his dog, and saw Thomas and Jack crying in the window. After a few moments Peter said, “Maybe Odie was supposed to find you, maybe you should keep it.”
What can we infer about the dog from the last paragraph?
A. It would be given to Odie.
B. It would be kept by Ann’s family.
C. It would be returned to Peter.
D. It would be taken away by Tracy.
2】 (2014)The acts of random kindness spread. If you were one of those drivers who found your fare paid, who knows what you might have been inspired to do for someone else later. Like all great events, kindness begins slowly, with every single act. Let it be yours!
What can we infer from the last paragraph
A. People should practice random kindness to those in need.
B. People who receive kindness are likely to offer it to others.
C. People should practice random kindness to strangers they meet.
D. People who receive kindness are likely to pay it back to the giver.
3】 (2014). . . It can run across water for a distance of several meters, avoiding getting wet by rapidly hitting the water’s surface with its feet. The lizard will take as many as 20 steps per second to keep moving forward.
What do we know about Basilicus basilicus from the passage?
A. It is light enough to walk on water.
B. Its huge feet enable it to stay above water.
C. It can run across water at a certain speed.
D. Its unique skin keeps it from getting wet in water.
根据第二段中的... avoiding getting wet by rapidly hitting the water’s surface with its feet. 以及The lizard will take as many as 20 steps p
