To consider the relationship betw een adjustment of crops patters and development of w ater sav ing irrigation, the optimal planning mathematical model of the regional agricultural w ater saving, in w hich total minimum investment of regional add w ater saving irrigation engineering is the objective function, have been established based on type of w ater resource, agricultural utilizable w ater, crop patters, w ater saving irrigation status and suitability of each w ater saving irrigation technology . T o use the mathemati cal model, the Xinjiang Hotan region optimal agricultural w ater saving plan that includes optimal crop pat ters and development scale of w ater saving irrigation for each crop have been put forw ard in 2020.
