锦绣华章 瑰丽馨香 — 《锦绣华章—嘉树堂藏明清织绣》专场掠影 The Jia Shu Tang Collection of Exquisite Chinese Embroidered Articles 文／张 迪 By Zhang Di As the first country in the world to master the textile technology and the birthplace of silk, China enjoys an enviable reputation of the “Kingdom of Silk in the Orient”. With their well-polished craftsmanship, the intelligent and industrious Chinese people kept innovating on techniques and materials to produce a remarkable variety of embroideries of divine craftsmanship, some of which were introduced to foreign countries and exerted a profound impact on the development of world civilization. While these silk- made embroideries keep exuding their unique charm in history, they are still delicate and fragile in nature. Compared with other antiques such as porcelain, jadeware, bamboo ware and woodware, antique silk products are much more difficult to preserve, thus more invaluable than the rest of artworks entering collections. Therefore, Chinese embroideries are one of the most important collections in famous museums both home and abroad. On the occasion of the twentieth founding anniversary of China Guardian, we hereby give the session of Splendid Chefs Doeuve: Jiashu Tang’s Collection of Embroideries of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the hope of bringing collectors and lovers of silk fabrics a wonderful feast of embroidery artworks through each of the embroideries carefully collected by the owner of Jiashu Tang. “唧唧复唧唧，木兰当户织。不闻机杼声，惟闻女叹息。”一首南北朝时期的乐府民歌— 《木兰辞》，脍炙人口， 世人流传。全诗以“唧唧复唧唧”的织机声开篇，形象地表现出时人的生活场景，由此可见我国的纺织历史源远 流长。 我国是世界上很早掌握纺织技术的国家，是丝绸的发源地，素有“东方丝国”之美誉。聪明勤劳的中国人 凭借精湛的技艺，不断革新技术和材料，生产出品类繁多、巧夺天工的织绣品，远播异域，给世界文明的发展带 来深远了影响。 而这些以丝为原材料创作的各类织绣艺术品在历史的长河中显现出她独特魅力的同时，也流露出其娇弱的 特质。古代丝织品较之瓷、玉、竹、木等瓷器文玩更难保护，从而使其在众多艺术品收藏种类中更显弥足珍贵。 由此，中国织绣更是国内外著名博物馆的重要典藏项目之一，如北京故宫博物院、台北国立故宫博物院、南京博 物院、上海市、辽宁省、苏州市博物馆及英国大英博物馆、美国纽约大都会博物馆等等，都有相当丰富的织绣典藏。 1995 年香港艺术馆曾举办“锦绣罗衣巧天工”的织绣大展。美国大都会博物馆还在 1998 年精心擘划了一场定名 为“当丝如金时”的丝织大展。 正当各个门类的艺术品
