Moral Objects: To educate the students to protect the environment. II. Teaching key points: To make the students know more about disasters. III. Teaching difficulties: The skills to understand the text. To discuss something about disasters. IV: Teaching Aids: Multi-media is used in the teaching procedures. V: Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Greeting Step 2 Lead-in 1. Showing some pictures，remind the students of some vocabulary about disasters and have them read aloud the key words. 2. Help the students be familiar with and master the key words about disasters: earthquakes, floods, forest fires, hurricanes, landslides, tsunamis, typhoons, volcanic eruptions. Step 3 Warm-up Introduction of the topic梥etting a discussion. The students discuss the question 揥hat do you think causes the disasters, people or nature??in pairs and then exchange views as a whole class. The students will find the correct answer by understanding the meaning of the title of the text and reading the text. Step 4 Reading strategies Introduce some reading strategies梒ompleting texts with sentence gaps and tell the students not to worry about the gaps in the text. 1.
