Appalachian State University Opened 1899 as a high school, became a teacher’s college and finally a university in 1966 Enrollment near 16,000 14,500, on campus ,1,500 off campus. Over 1,800 graduate students. Over 730 faculty. Part of UNC System. One doctorate in educational administration. Appalachian is a similar age to Fudan, but much smaller. We are in a rural area, many of our students are first generation college students * BELK LIBRARY INFORMATION COMMONS Opened 2005 Personnel 87. faculty 40 (Instructors). staff 47. 140 students employees. Total budget $7.5 million. Collections budget $3.4 million - Collection managed in relation to curriculum. Annual gate count over 1,180,000. It is gorgeous building to work in, I hope you can come visit * Service Goals- Mission- to assist those who pursue knowledge The ability to find, evaluate, and use information effectively is an educational goal for every Appalachian State University graduate.?
