Abstract Facing the continuous reduction of wood resources ，recombinant bamboo ，as a
material for the production of furniture ，has the advantages of saving resources ，environmental
protection ，and can be used as new Chinese style furniture to replace the traditional hardwood．
However ，it lacks of the visual sense of beauty with respects of color and texture like traditional
hardwood． Thus ，the decoration of the new Chinese style furniture made of recombinant bamboo
is particularly important． The carving ，painting ，and mosaic technologies ，three major decoration
methods of the new Chinese style
