Chapter 8 Output Devices Objectives In this chapter, the reader should be able to Describe the two kinds of output signals and devices Learn about some digital (switching) output signals and circuits. Describe the Analogy output signals and circuits Describe how to control the speed and direction of a DC motor. 8．1 Two kinds of output signals and devices. Usually there are two kinds of output signals and devices ,analog signal or device and digital (switching) signal or device. As intelligent instrumentation based on microcontroller, which output signals must be digital ,need a device to convert digital signals into a continuous signal ready for output device, which is called Digital -to-Analog converter. Some external device just need digital (switching) signal . As previously mentioned. an external device should not be connected to a microcontroller without first performing careful interface analysis to insure that the voltage, current, and timing requirement, of the microcontroller and the external device are met. In this section we describe interface considerations for a wide variety of external devices and output circuits. 8．2 Digital (switching) output signals and circuits. Switching signal can control the extern device into on or off, which call bang-bang control or relay control . Switching output channel consists of flip-latch(锁存器)、output driver(输出驱动器)and address encoder(地址译码器) .
