When reference to this European Standard has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the European Communities, compliance with it will confer a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements covered by the standard in respect of the Pressure Equipment Directive. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee PVE/2, Water-tube boilers, which has the responsibility to: — aid enquirers to understand the text; — present to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; — monitor related international and European developments and promulgate them in the UK.
