She is also an MBA candidate at the University of Michigan (class of 2014). Prior to moving to Detroit in July 2012, Carreon lived in Seattle where she served as a forest steward with Seattle Parks and Recreation and as a carbon coach to promote city climate change awareness through the City’s Office of Sustainability. Carreon is active in community outreach and was awarded 2011 Mentor of the Year by the Washington State DSHS Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration Mentoring Program. She chairs the US Green Building Councils Emerging Professionals National Committee and is also an elected director for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers’ National Environmental Division. Carreon graduated with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University in 2007. JERRY LAWRENCE is from Detroit, Michigan, but has lived in San Francisco, CA and Washington, D.C.
