The better mould inhibitors were 02 % potassium sorbate and 0075 % chlorolthalonil 8 days after treatment in open field. Laboratory experiments showed that 02 % potassium sorbate had no significant effect on the consumption of the millet powder by O . formosanus , but 0075 % chlorolthalonil had obvious repellent effect on O . formosanus that significantly reduced the consumption of the millet powder. Further field results showed that the rate of bait mouldy in the CK and bait plus 02 % potassium sorbate or plus 0075 % chlorolthalonil were 100 % , 20 % and 30 % , respectively , and the rate of bait consumption was 2767 % , 5370 % and 1915 % , respectively , 8 days after the baits were applied.
