Module 10 Unit 3 Language in use

Teaching process:
Step 1: Vocabulary revision
Part 1: using word map to revise vocabulary
Draw a word map on the blackboard together with the students, encourage students to memorize new words in groups. (Based on Exercise 4 on Page 64)
Part 2: play a game about vocabulary so everyone in class can be involved
(Game: students take turns to say one word they know about computers or internet. If they fail to think one in time or say one word that has been said, they will remain standing, then see which line has the most “standing students”. )
1: explain to students about the game, using “animal” as an example.
2: let students play about the word “computer”
3: as to make the game more challenging, in the second round of the game, each student will stand up and say one thing they can do on a computer
(write students’ answers on the blackboard if they are not from the textbook.)
Step 2: Language practice
Part 1: After the second round of the game, let students finish Exercise 5 on Page 65.
Let students check answers in pairs. And then check answers with the whole class by reading together.
Part 2: Use “download the music” as an example to revise the wh-questions. (PPT)
Examples:
-Do you usually download music?
-What kind of music do you usually download?
-When do you often download music?
-Where can you download music?
-How often do you download music?
Part 3: Ask students to make sentences using phrases in Exercise 5, and ask and answer in pairs
(Answers should include frequency words like: always, never, usually, often…)
Part 4: Play a game called “Throwing balls”
