Unit 3 Art Architecture—speaking Yanqing No.3 Middle School Wang Zhi Fang Topic: Unit 3 Art Architecture--speaking Pre-class Analysis Teaching materials The core task and topic of this unit is art and architecture and all teaching activities are developed pointing the core. To enable the students to improve from their present level, I divided the whole unit as follows: Warming-up and listening; excite the interest and input information of the topic Speaking; enable the students to express likes or dislikes as well as talk about architecture Reading; input more about architecture Language study and grammar Integrating skills; input even more about the topic Writing; output the topic This lesson is the second period of this unit, in which how to express one’s preference for architectures is the key point .At the same time, I design the tasks to consolidate how to support one’s ideas ( on one hand …one the other hand ,which have been learned last unit) in a logical way. Students The students come from Art Class, which is a newly-built class this term, and have various family background( children of mountainous villagers, farmers on plain areas, and families in Yanqing town.) Different life experiences make them a great diversity of learning. Therefore, group work, especially a bigger group is a better choice for them. Besides, our school is not a key school ,and all of them have some difficulty in studying certain subject. They need more encouragement. Before this lesson(the warming-up and listening period)The students have developed a strong desire of this topic as well as input some vocabularies and phrases about architecture.
