“Machinic Scenes” of Kaohsiung Harbor 哈瑪星 「感知運動城市 」國際工作營 March 30 – April 4. 2017 The Club Cinemetrics social network and urban design collaborative emerged out of a series of drawing workshops at Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Architecture (CUFOA) in Bangkok, Thailand, Parsons The New School for Design (PNSD) and Syracuse University School of Architecture (SUSOA) in New York, Department of Architecture at Chu-Hai College, and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan. Cinemetrics is a post-perspectival, cinematically inspired drawing system that encourages a way of working that is multilayered and multiscalar, responding to the complexities of contemporary life and the city. Cinemetrics enabled us to adopt an interdisciplinary process to explore and generates an understanding of the relationship between space, human bodies and architecture as a means of reframing flowing matter flux. Each student, in his or her own way, explored the self-reflective aspect of cinema by finding a way to draw not by representing architecture as a material object, but by framing images in movement and generating architectural space as flowing matter flux. The workshop has invited the Dean of Parsons’ School of Constructed Environments, and professional nd architects and urban designers from formal MECANOO architects to the 9-day workshop. 2 year th 4 year, and selected graduate students will participate in and benefit from the workshop, and through discussion, production and presentation, design cultural interflow will be made possible along with the lecture and intensive design exercises.
