The essential is that I applying the image processing theory of image enhancement and image segmentation connected with the computer programming in matlab process the image of x-ray non-destructive testing and iron spectrum analysis based on analyzing test image. Afterwards, we can obtain the relative parameters of the tested image such as the position, shape and size. The image processing technology can take the image characteristics information out via image math transforms and relative processing methods, supplied an efficient solution to visualization and intellectualization of information. Therefore, we can utilize those information further estimated the working condition of mechanical equipments so as to realize the intellectualization in testing the failure of equipments.　　　 There were some aspects works below in researching of this task:　　 (1) Introduced the current developments of digital image processing technology and non-destructive testing in home and abroad, I discussed the practical meaning of using digital image processing into NDT area.　　 (2) Summarized method and fundamental theory of digital image processing, I had gain a totally comprehension in image preprocessing and image feature extraction. 　 (3) processed the image of x-ray non-destructive testing based on the programming in matlab and the relative theory of image proces
