2013-2014学年第二学期《高级英语2》教学计划 本学期拟上4个单元(3至4周结束一单元)： Lesson 6 Mark Twain — Mirror of America (Excerpts) Lesson 13 No Signposts in the Sea Lesson 14 Speech on Hitler’s Invasion of the USSR Lesson 15 Argentia Bay 课程成绩评定方法： 平时成绩（30%）+期末卷面成绩（70%）=100% 平时成绩组成（占课程总成绩的30%）: Book Report 10% Quiz-1 (Unit 6) 15% Quiz-2 / Mid-term Exam 20% （如果期中考试不考，本次测验随堂完成，时间为两节课） Quiz-3 15% 考勤 10% 作业 30%（三次书面作业，各占10%） 注： 不提供教学PPT Book Report： 1 piece, at least 800 words. Guidelines for Book Reports Your report must be about full length books of at least 150 pages long (not short stories, poems, or magazines). You cannot do book reports on the same books you did in this or other courses. Try to read at least half an hour every day. You should finish your reading by the 15th week of this semester and give you at least 1 week to compose your book report. Book reports must be typed. Submit them (both the printout and the digital file) by the 16th week. Any form of plagiarism is not acceptable. Anyone caught cheating or copying will get an F. Book reports are to be completed using the format that follows. Your full name The complete title of the book. The full name of the author of the book. The number of pages in the book. Suggestions on what to cover in your book reports: A complete description of what the book is about; The author’s thesis and major supporting arguments; The literary qualities of the book; If you have read other books on the same general topic, 1) make a comparison between them; 2) how does the interpretation (thesis) of this book differ from that of others?
