Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, MX, claudia.salas@uaslp.mx ABSTRACT The problems of international economic competitiveness as a result of trade liberalization of Mexico with other countries we have been faced with a major challenge in higher education, and that the market demands a professional to face and solve the problems of the various sectors, industrial, commercial, social, etc.. In the particular case of the formation of professionals engineering area, there is the disadvantage that the traditional teaching methods lack of significant learning for students, having to do with science basic and applying them in solving engineering problems or these related to other sciences. Therefore, cross-learning are required in the curriculum, to develop in students the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas academic to solve a problem and propose models with optimal operation processes. This goal can be achieved by introducing and workshops generalized integrators, forming part of the curriculum in levels or higher semesters.
