Aircraft Familiarization Canadair Regional Jet 705 900 Objectives To familiarize personnel with identification characteristics of the Canadair Regional Jet series of aircraft. To review the systems on the aircraft. To review egress possibilities on the aircraft. To familiarize personnel with engine and APU shutdown procedures, both internal and external. Identifying Characteristics Main means of differentiating and identifying different type aircraft are by body style, wing tips, landing gear, engines, and egress pathways. Each aircraft has particular characteristics that enable it to be identified from other aircraft. Identifying Characteristics The CRJ 705 and CRJ 900 are the same aircraft with the exception of passenger load and range/weight differences. The CRJ 705 and CRJ 900 are different from the CRJ 700 in that there are two overwing exits on each side, versus one on the CRJ 700. Identifying Characteristics CRJ 705: Height: 24’ 7” to top of tail Length: 119’ 4” Wing span: 76’ 3” Identifying Characteristics CRJ 900: Height: 24’ 7” to top of tail Length: 119’ 4” Wing span: 76’ 3” Identifying Characteristics Identifying Characteristics Models-CRJ 705 The actual model is the CL-600 2D-15: The aircraft comes in a standard version has a range of 1781 nm The ER has a range of 2,062 nm. Models-CRJ 900 The actual model is the CL-600 2D-24: The aircraft comes in a standard version has a range of 1498 nm. The aircraft also is available in an extended range and long range version which has a range of 1732 nm/1930 nm.
