Since its publication in 1954, it has been a hot topic in academic research of literary works and meets countless favorable voices. It was even filmed in 1963 and 1990. At first they make concerted effort to establish a civilized society but later the children gradually lose their innocence and behave like savages. * Research on human nature of the novel is always the most popular and a great many critics hold that it is an exploration of human nature which is inherently evil.
