This is the Continuous Representation, and the process areas are organized by process area category. Briefly describe each category and move to the next slide. * * State that this is the other standard view of the model, called the staged representation. The process areas are organized here by maturity level, which is a defined plateau of process maturity based on a preselected set of process areas. Mention that the two representations will be discussed in much greater detail in the next module. * * * Note that the basic Process Management PAs provide the basic infrastructure on which all of the process management activities are built. Explain that OPF provides resources and guidance needed to collect and manage the set of assets that are resident in OPD, and extended with +IPPD. OT is essential for making sure that people have the skills to use those assets on the job. Note that process management receives its own guidance from the organizational infrastructure. OPF receives its guidance from business objectives for planning and execution of improvement. OT receives its guidance from training needs of the organization project level. OPD is updated through feedback loops to all the other PAs. * Explain that once the basic infrastructure is in place, the organization is poised from a process management perspective to take advantage of the benefits gained from improvement activities. For example, once a measurement system is in place, and processes are characterized, the organization is in a position to characterize and stabilize process performance through OPP and set up a more sophisticated continuous improvement cycle through OID. Note that this level of performance is not done in isolation. The relationships among the advanced Process Management PAs constitute both guidance to Project Management, Support, and Engineering PAs, and also feed
