Especially, in recent years, the frequent occurrence of food safety incidents, and more and more food safety problems were due to the food contact materials, so the public had paid more attention to the safety of food contact materials, including the stainless steel food contact materials. This paper analyzed the current situation of regulations and standards on the stainless steel food contact materials in the world, such as ISO, EU, Japan, Korea etc. , which was discussed based on the safety requirements and testing conditions. In addition, comparing the differences between national standards, a series of suggestions on standard and safety assessment had been put forward.
