Lesson Plan Contents Unit 5 what are you going to do today?(第一课时) Description of the class Grade 5 primary pupils with a class of 40 pupils Time Duration 40 minutes Teaching Objectives(aims) 1 Pupils are able to read and write these words: take a test, go on vacation, get a haircut, see the doctor, shop for clothes, have a party, write letters, meet some friends. 2 Pupils are able to understand the new sentence: what are you going to do today? I’m going to ____. Are you going to_____ Key Point The eight new words and the new sentences. Teaching methods or Teaching aids Radio, words card, pictures Teaching steps: Step1 warm-up Review the four-skilled words in the unit3(There are no new words in unit4) Taking a calendar and asking the student “what are you going to do today?” in Chinese. And then students would answer in Chinese. Step 2 presentation Word learning The teacher shows the picture which something about the meaning of the words on it to the students. For example, the “take a rest” .The teacher shows a picture with some students who set in classroom and took a test on it. And then ask the students the using of the eyes. Their answer is “考试”,and then can teach them this new words. The teacher can use the other ways to teach the new words. For example, the teacher can also ask one student to stand on the stage to do as the Chinese meaning on the back of words card. (2)The students repeat all the new words after the teacher. (3)Repeat after the radio (4)The teacher checks the students can ether read the new words or not. (Firstly, all the students read the words, and then in groups and in individual.) (5)One student teaches the rest of the students in the class. The learning of using the new sentence “what are you going to do today?” and “I’m going to ___________” (6) The teacher using Chinese talks to the students “What are you going to do today?” and then answer by myself, “I’m going to shop for clothes.” At this time, let the students speak
