An intelligent cooling system for an internal combustion engine were investigated.
The model included of electrical water pump, electrical fan and a heated thermostat.
The model was based on a 1.4 L engine characteristics derived from experiments.
This system decreased fuel consumption, HC and CO emissions by 1.1%, 5.3% and 6.1%
Engine performance was improved over all parts of the NEDC cycle.
