Christmas Eve, as described by the song Silent Night, is the day of December the 24th and is the whole day before Christmas Day The story of the birth of Jesus began in a town called Bethlehem in Galilee in the country of Israel. The mother of Jesus is called the Virgin Mary and she was engaged to be married to Joseph. Before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph decided to put her away secretly. While he thought about these things, Gabriel, an angel of the Lord, appeared to him in a dream and told him not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife. The Angel said, Mary will give birth to a son, and He shall be called Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. Most children believe that Santa Claus lives in the Arctic. All year, he lists the names of children, both those who have been good and those who have been bad. He decides what presents to give to the good children. Each child hangs a stocking on their door on Christmas Eve. Santa enters down the chimney and leaves candy and presents inside the stockings for the children. On the morning of Christmas Day, each child cant wait to open his or her eyes to see what Santa has left in their stocking. Besides this, all around the World there are important family gatherings for family members to celebrate another happy and peaceful Christmas.
