Lesson 3 gearsGears are toothed ,cylindrical wheels used for transmitting motion and power from one rotating shaft to another .the teeth of a driving gear mesh accurately in the spaces between teeth on the driven gear. The driving teeth push on the driven teeth , exerting a force perpendicular to the radius of the gear .
