Abstract: The lexical chunk approach is a new language pedagogical theory. It is becoming an increasing important topic in applied linguistic circles, simply because lexical chunks are key elements in how language is used. At first, the paper introduces knowledge about lexical chunk: the concept, the classification and the related viewpoints on lexical chunk. Secondly, it introduces the main approaches to current vocabulary teaching, and the paper analyzing the major problem existing in current vocabulary learning. The paper proceeds to raise an efficient solution: the lexical chunk approach, which can promote the efficiency of English vocabulary learning. Then, the advantages of this approach in teaching process are summed up: that is, the theory of lexical chunk, which plays an active role in language learning, abides by the basic law of cognition and has a positive effect on students’ discourse, speaking and writing ability. At, last the paper introduces how apply lexical chunk theory to English vocabulary teaching. It is believed that learning vocabulary through lexical chunks is an effective and practicable approach.

摘要:词块教学法是在外语教学提倡以应用为目的的背景下兴起的新的语言教学方法。在应用语言分界,词块教学法已成为一个越来越重要的话题。简单的说是因为词块是语言应用的主要因素。本文首先阐述了有关词块的知识:词块的概念,分类以及与词块有关的观点。其次,通过介绍当前词块教学的主要方法,进而分析总结出在当前词块教学中存在的问题。通过探索词块教学存在的问题之后,提出了解决问题的方法,即利用词块教学法提高英语词汇学习的效率。紧接着分析并总结了词块教学法在英语词汇教学过程中的优势:即在英语教学中发挥积极作用的词块作为英语词汇教学的单位,符合认知的基本规律,对提高学生的语篇、口语和写作的能力将产生积极的作用。并进一步提出把词块教学应用在英语词汇教学过程中。本文旨在证明词块教学方法是学习词汇行之有效的方法。
