On How to Transmit Culture in English Teaching Abstract：This paper begins with a brief introduction to many people’s teaching method in linguistic research. It points out that teaching materials is very important. and teaching method is also very important. The reasons are as follow: (1) Some fairiy good US and UK publishes adopt the materials that relates culture, customs and habits of their own countries.Sometimes dialogues are also good materials for cultural differences studying due to its strong discern on society and culture. (2) Chinese has great difference from foreign language on pronuncaiation, verbal, garmmer,sentence structure.So the teaching method is very important. First, the teacher must gain some understanding on culture differences of the two different languages.Teachers should not only be able to provide students with information about foreign culture ; More important,,they should let their students express themselves accurately under different circumstances. 1.Teaching materials is very important. In teaching process, we should use certain proportion of teaching materials which come English-speaking countries and at the same time we should try to use some more teaching materials which is close to reality in our own textbooks.We call it “authentic material’’.
