技能学习 据统计，我国有近一半的贸易额是通过信用证支付方式实现的。信用证一律使用英语， 从实际业务出现的问题来看，操作人员往往由于语言的问题造成对信用证条款误读，并 由此引起的银行迟付、少付甚至拒付现象时有发生。故而应重视对信用证英语的掌握， 加强对信用证条款的理解，以免发生误读，给企业带来损失。本项目旨在引导大家对信 用证英语有个全面大略的认识，同时又不乏对常见细节的掌握。 第一节 信用证的用词 信用证英语属于法律文体，用词正式严谨，并大量使用专业术语（Terminology ）。以下 通过举例介绍一些常见的信用证用词。 （一）用累赘词表达单一含义 1. in effect/force 生效，如“remain in effect/force until May 10th”。 2. null and void 失效，如“become null and void”。 3. refuse and rejection 拒绝，如“payment refuse and rejection”。 4. reserves, guarantee or indemnity 保函，如“payment under reserves, guarantee or indemnity is not allowed” 。 5. terms and conditions 条款，如“in accordance with the terms and conditions of this L/C”。 6. under and in compliance with 依据，如“under and incompliance with terms of this L/C” 。 （二）使用一些旧体词 7. foregoing, aforesaid, the said, aforementioned, above-mentioned 上述，如“at any port of the aforesaid countries” 。 8. hereafter, hereinafter; thereafter, thereinafter 此后，如“hereafter referred to as freight” 。 9. hereinabove, hereinbefore, heretofore; thereinbefore 前述，如“stated hereinbefore”。 10. hereunder, hereinunder; thereunder 下述，如“documents presented hereunder”此项下提交的 单据。 11. hereon, hereupon; thereupon, thereon 上面；立刻，如“superimposed thereon”在此附加的。 12. herein, therein 该处，如“any unit price stated therein”。 13. hereto, thereto 对其，如“the credit and an amendment thereto”信用证和对其修改书。 14. hereby, thereby 以此，如“We hereby certify…”我们以此证实。 15. herewith, therewith 与其，如，“documents in compliance therewith”与其相符的单据 16. thereof, therefrom 源于此，如，“the details thereof” 由此产生的细节；“consequences arising therefrom” 由此引起的后果。 （三）表示“根据、依照”的词 17. as per 常用于不太复杂的条款中。如“Reimbursement: We shall pay you as per your instructions upon maturity”偿付：在到期日，我行将根据你行指示向你行付款。 18. in accordance with 典型书面语，语气严肃。如“We undertake to reimburse you in the curren
