财经新闻听力学习指导与要求 ---经贸外语学院栾宏琼 Tips and Requirements for this course: 1) Develop a good habit of gaining relevant information every day by reading in mass media like newspapers, magazines and internet; (to be recommended: the New York Times，the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the Forbes, Fortune, the Economist, China Daily; ) 2) Develop a good habit of gaining relevant information every day by listening to mass media like BBC, VOA(Special English and Standard English)，CNN （Cable News Network）, NPR（National Public Radio）、CCTV-9，CRI（China Radio International） 3) Study the wordlist for all the passages carefully, which may help you a lot to have a better understanding of the passages; Make a wordlist if there isn’t one 4) When listening for the first time, [1] just focus on the main idea and important information usu. included in the 6 Ws; [2] look through the wordlist if there is any; [3] don’t worry if you can’t understand all the contents; 5) Read all the questions before you listen to the passage and then work out your answer after listening; 6) When you finish all the questions make sure you’ll listen to the whole passage again and try your best to repeat it. 7) Make sure that you can answer all the questions and understand 90% of the contents by listening, not by reading. 8) It’s strongly recommended that after class a discussion be carried out on the topics learned in class. (Doing so will improve your vocabulary and your ability to express yourselves on the relevant topics.) 9) Imitate broadcasters and make short news reports. In class each student is to broadcast a piece of financial and economic news happened in the latest week home or abroad within 1 minute with at least 4 of the 6ws. Your performance will be a part of your final score for this course. 10) If any exercises go unfinished in class, you are to do self-teaching and finish them all after class. 11) Written homework will also account for a part of your final score for this co
