* 虚拟架构的实现方式上来看，主要有两种，一种是寄居型，像workstation，vmware server，像microsoft virture pc，简单的来说，寄居型的架构是安装在主机操作系统之上的虚拟机，比如我有台pc/server,要使用这台机器，我先安装操作系统（2003等）－驱动－补丁，安装workstation，在workstation里安装、配置、运行一台虚拟机（xp），这样结构：硬件/2003/workstation/xp(viurtual machine),虚拟机的运行依赖主机的操作系统，包括设备的支持和资源的管理。而像这种主机的操作系统，他的功能很多，系统本身也是很复杂的，运行各种不同的应用。所以本身存在很多bug，漏洞，冲突，容易被攻击，也是比较脆弱的。 在高级架构中，虚拟层是直接安装在硬件设备之上。虚拟层之上直接运行虚拟机，通过虚拟层的获得硬件支持和资源。虚拟层和主机操作系统相比，功能相对单纯，就是负责支持虚拟机运行的。 * This is a server. VMware introduced a single node hypervisor, ESX server back in 2001. And then we introduced VMotion that lets you take a running virtual machine and move it without service interruption across physical machines. You can be serving a movie and the client watching will so no blip as the movie server is moved from one machine to another. This VMotion also lets you service a machine in the middle of the day with no client interruption, say you want to upgrade the memory or service a component.
