How busy everybody is! The man in the middle is mending shoes. At a counter on the right, a woman is showing an old man a towel and some soap. We see a girl at the door. She is going to do housework for the families in the neighbourhood. Two women are sewing by the window. One of them is making a shirt and the other is patching a pair of trousers. The workers at the service centre help their neighbours in many ways. They play an important part in socialist construction. Notes a service centre centre (英) center（美） neighbourhood (英) neighborhood（美） Look at this service centre. 这里look是不及物动词,与介词at构成动词短语,表示“看”、“瞧”的意思。注意英语中表示“看”的主要动词有：see 表示“看见”，通常用作及物动词；watch 表示“观看”，通常用作及物动词；look 着重于“看”这一动作本身，通常用作不及物动词，表示“看什么”时通常需加介词at。“看见”、“发现”则需要用see或find。试比较: Dont look at me that way.
