Halloween is celebrated on the 31st of October. (US and Europe) O-bon or Bon Festival is celebrated all over Japan as an all souls day. The few days are celebrated to greet the souls returning from the other side to be with the living (a happy event). After three days, the souls are led back to the sea by paper boats with candles lit to show the way until they return next year. It is sometimes called the Lantern Festival. Traditional dances are performed in parades and neighbors feel free to join in. Obon (Japan) The Day of the Dead, celebrated throughout Mexico on November 1 and 2nd. People who have died in the past year are remembered, their pictures placed on family altars and special food and drink are offered for the souls of the departed.
