AbstractNetworkconvergencehasbecomethedevelopmenttrendofnext-generation network,whichisgenerallyagreedbythecommunicationcircles.Withtheadvantage complementarycharacteristics,manyorganizationsandscholarspaymoreattentionto theintegrationof3GandWLAN.Inthisdissertation,wemainlyfocusontwokey technicalissues:Thispaperfocusesonthehandoffissueofmultipath-transmissionofsingletraffic duetothemobilityofuserin3G-WLANconvergednetworks.Firstly,weintroducethe demandsandadvantagesofmultipathtransmission,pointingoutthenecessityof multipathtransmission. On this basis, we elicit the multipath transmission handoff problemandanalyzeitseffectsandtheexistinghandofftechniques,pointingoutthat thefasthandoffschemeisoneofthecriticalfactorstoguaranteetheservicequalityof mobilesubscribers.Secondly,weproposeafasthandoffschemebasedonmultipath transmissionofsingletraffic,consideringthemobilitysupportabilityofdifferent networksandtheprocesspriorityofdifferenttraffic.Finally,simulationresultsshow thattheschemeisbetterthanthetraditionalhandoffscheme,theschemereducesthe handoffdelayandguaranteesQoSrequirementduringthehandoffprocedureand improves the utilizationofnetwork resource.Thispaperfocusesonthenetworkselectionissuein3G-WLANconverged network.Firstly,weillustratethecurrentsituationoftheincreasinglyshortageof3G resourceandanalyzethereasonwhyWLANunabletoguaranteetheQoSrequirement ofsubscribers.Secondly,wedeeply analyze the existingnetworkselectionalgorithms to achievethedepth-integrationof3G-WLAN.Then,weproposeanetworkselection schemebasedonQoSguarantee,consideringtheuserlocationandtypeofservice.
