CG Coloring on Adobe Photoshop by J8d Hi there! Do you like to know how I color the drawings using Adobe Photoshop? In this tutorial, I’ll show you on how to color my original drawing using Adobe Photoshop. Sorry for my grammar, I’ll try my best to make it correct. For more interesting, I made a less words and more images for easier to understand. You must know the basics tools and the use of Adobe Photoshop before we precede this tutorial. 1. Scanning your work I make sure my work is clean before I scan. Scan in a 300 dpi resolution (minimum is 150 dpi, but best to scan in 300 dpi for printing quality) and set to Grayscale. Once I done, there’s some “dirt” in my artwork so I have to remove it manually. Click Image – Adjustment – Brightness and Contrast and increase the brightness and contrast a bit until it remove the “dirt” and the line turn crisp. Not all the dirt has completely remove, so I use an Eraser tool (E) to remove the remaining dirt. 2. Make a transparent line art Set the foreground and background color to default by pressing D in your keyboard. Click Select – Color Range and change the fuzziness to 200 then press OK. It will automatically select the outline of my work. Then create a new layer and use the Paint Bucket tool (G) to fill the selection (in shortcut, press Alt + Backspace). Then hide the Background layer by click the “eye” beside it. After that, click the Image – Mode – RGB Color to change into RGB mode. Then I save my work in psd file. 3. Change the color of the line Click the Image – Adjustment – Hue and Saturation (in shortcut Ctrl + H) and change the outline to dark brown, like as shown below. 4.
