Unit2 Working the land 教材分析(analysis of teaching material): This passage is a about organic farming. Nowadays, the chemical fertilizers are popular among farming. It damages the land, is bad for environment and people’s health. Some farmers and customers prefer the organic farming. Students can learn something about it from this passage. 学情分析(analysis of the students)This passage is little difficult for our students. There are some difficult sentences for them. Teachers can help students to read them and try to translate them. Meanwhile, our students can learn something new about farming. Chemical fertilizers cause many problems, so organic farming are popular among farming. 教学目标(Teaching aims) 知识目标(Knowledge aims) Words: mineral; reduce; organic; level; whatever; bacteria; refer to; year after year… Sentences: 1) Many farmers welcomed them as a great way to stop crop disease and increase production. 2) First, they damage the land by killing the helpful bacteria and pests as well as the harmful ones. 3) These many different organic farming methods have the same goal: to grow good food and avoid damaging the environment or people’s health. 能力目标(Ability aims):Enable students to master the main idea of the text and know the ways of organizing articles. 情感目标(Emotional aims): help students learn how to enlarge the words and know the ways of the same topic. 教学重点和难点(teaching important points and difficult points) #Teaching important points: words and expressions, main idea and some difficult sentences #Teaching difficult points: how to grasp the main idea of the passage; how to grasp the words and phrases and be able to use them of the same topic. 教学过程(Teaching procedures) Step 1 pre-reading Q :1) How do you know about the organic farming?
