Note student learning strengths and needs. Check for potential areas of student success. Look for potential problem areas. Use information gathered to brainstorm instructional adaptations. Decide which adaptations to implement. Evaluate student progress. Taken from Friend and Bursuck (1996) Instructional Accommodations These are adjustments in teaching techniques and materials employed by teachers that allow learning tasks to be more easily accomplished by students.
